The first little signs of spring are starting to show; first, as you can tell from the tree in my yard, the local plants and birds are starting to act as if spring has been here for several weeks.
My 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid (HCHII) is also getting in on this springtime action. On my way home last night, I pulled 61+ MPG until my last errand of the night, where I dropped down to 58.6 MPG.
My last tank, which started out in some pretty brisk temperatures with some nice windy weather thrown in for good measure, started out as a measly 52 MPG tank, which graduated to an adequate 55-56 mpg for about a week, but then spring hit and I polished off that tank at a very nice 61.544 MPG over 716.8 miles. The light was about to come on in about another 50 miles or so, but I was not sure what my commutes were going to look like, so I filled before the gas light illuminated.
The start of this week and my new tank is much better than the last tank, it is still cooler than the car excels at but tonight she gave some good numbers (58.6 MPG) and the tank is showing 57.5 MPG on the trip meter.
Is your spring getting off to a nice start?
