Just a quick update today: First, Midlands Honda and The Midlands Hybrid Club will participate in this year's Earth Fare Earth Day Celebration to raise awareness for environmental stewardship, as well as “Promoting the Spread of Clean Personal Transportation Technologies”. Also I have the results from the winter fuel economy challenge I was participating in. I received the “Lives In his Car” designation travelling more miles than anyone in all three divisions of the competition. “Lives In His Car: Kacey Green in his 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid. 6993 miles in 3 months.”
I finished in 6th place of 12 of Division B, with 126 Gallons of gasoline burned over 6993 miles at 55.5 miles per gallon for the whole 3 months. The adjusted score was 155.5% over EPA MPG figures (hybrids received a 25% bump because they eliminate some of the available FE techniques). Kacey Green for the Midlands Hybrid Club "Promoting the spread of clean personal transportation technologies." My fuel economy, tracked at every fill-up since purchase, your mileage will vary.
The Midlands Hybrid Club, the home of the hybrid club and hypermiling of the Carolinas, based in Columbia, SC.
